The Summer Associates Program (SAP) is a 10-week development program designed to build expertise in a broad range of compelling businesses and expose associates to Thomson Reuters’ senior management, consistent with our full-time Management Associates Program (MAP). MAP was created to identify and develop future leaders at Thomson Reuters. The Summer Associates Program acts as the main pipeline by which we select the highest caliber talent each year to join this high-profile rotational program on a full-time basis.
During an enriched summer experience, Associates participate in a Summer Business Challenge where they will work with fellow SAP’s across the globe to answer a question of strategic importance to the organization. At the end of the summer, teams have the opportunity to present to a panel consisting of our Executive Committee and other senior executives. Associates also benefit from peer mentorship relationships; business unit presentations and other educational opportunities; and networking events with MAP alumni and other business leaders.
The Strategy Track is for individuals looking to pursue a career executing at 3 levels of strategy – corporate, product or proposition (business unit or corporate level) and business enablement/operations. In addition, placements could be with product and/or region specific strategy team including product proposition, development or management along with Business Development.
Summer placements are chosen with a view to both the current business needs and to the associate’s own career goals. Associates also have the opportunity to experience Thomson Reuters from all points along the organizational spectrum, from the corporate level to specific business units.
