Role Purpose

This product management role supports the industry leading Audit & Accounting line, a high growth segment within the Thomson Reuters Tax & Accounting business.  In this role, you will be a key member of our Audit & Accounting Segment team whose objective is to maximize sales revenues, market share, and profit margins.

The product management function is the hub of many activities across the product line and the segment that are necessary to support Sales, interact with customers, collaborate across multiple functions and business units, bring new product to market and actively monitor and manage its marketplace success on an on-going basis.  This role will also be involved in enterprise activities across the business and the transition of our product line to a digital business. 

To be successful in this role, you must possess the drive to enable transformation and solve problems.  You must also possess, or be able to quickly obtain, knowledge of the A&A market as well as the technology and information solutions we provide to empower our customers and make them successful. You must also be able to effectively collaborate and communicate with all areas of the company as well as other business units of Thomson Reuters Tax & Accounting.

Whether you work remotely or office in Ann Arbor or Carrollton, you will need to demonstrate that you can work effectively with multiple functions across the business at the level necessary to fully meet the objectives and responsibilities for the position.

This role will report to the Senior Director of Product Management for the Audit & Accounting Segment.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with and partner with other members of the A&A Segment team (including segment Directors and Vice President, A&A Segment) to develop, refine and execute on strategies necessary to continually grow the Thomson Reuters Tax & Accounting A&A line.
  • Work closely with the Senior Director of Product Management to –
    • Enable the success of our various Sales teams.
    • Execute successful go-to-market plans for new product offerings and achieve revenue targets.
    • Drive the transition of our product line to a digital business.

Scope and Impact

  • Collaborate and communicate across all areas of the company
  • Work on multiple projects and products
  • No direct people management responsibility initially
  • Goals responsibility for timely execution of assigned projects, financial success of product launches, and A&A segment financial targets.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization
  • Speak comfortably in a variety of settings including one-on-one, in front of groups, in person and remotely

  • Ability to quickly establish credibility and rapport with others
  • Ability to work virtually and influence cross-departmental teams without formal authority to execute segment strategy
  • Knowledge of the A&A market as well as our A&A product offerings is desired
  • Product management experience is a plus
  • Experience in sales and/or marketing communications is a plus

Relationships: Internal / External

  • Segment, Product Management and Product Development Leads in the Audit and Accounting Segment as well as other Tax & Accounting business units
  • Commercial transformation teams involving multiple functions across the business (segments, sales, operations, commercial strategy & policy, and senior leadership).
  • Inside and Field Sales Representatives and Sales Management
  • Sales Support teams including Sales Training and Marketing
  • Customer Support teams including Customer Management, Product Training, Product Usage, Technical Support
  • Customers and Industry Consultants

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years software product management or similar experience
  • In-knowledge of A&A profession and current product offering
  • CPA/accounting firm experience preferred
  • Knowledge of current technology trends
  • Ability to work both independently, and as a member of a team, across a highly-matrixed organization to accomplish objectives
  • Occasional travel may be required.
