Thomson Reuters is looking for an experienced and dynamic professional to run its agency video operations in Russia and the other CIS countries. This is a region that is a top news hot spot and rarely out of the headlines.
We are looking for a strong journalist and an experienced manager to help drive newsgathering and news output operations, based in Moscow. We want someone who can effectively manage a talented and diverse team of producers, camera operators and video journalists across the region, spanning 12 countries.
The successful candidate will be a genuine self-starter and an effective communicator. She or He will have strong news judgment and will be skilled at visual multimedia story telling. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to improving editorial performance, and able to manage change across the region.
The video news industry is going through a period of significant change, largely driven by technology and the rapidly changing habits of news consumers. The successful candidate will be very customer focused and will be able to tailor content for Reuters’ clients in the growing digital sector as well as existing broadcast news customers.
Essential Day to Day responsibilities:
Supervise coverage and delivery of video content for General News and other specialist segments, including CEEF – Reuters’ central and eastern European video product
Supervise production of Russian Video Report that delivers news packages in Russian language to broadcasters and online publishers
Take charge of all planning. Respond courageously to major breaking news events, acting quickly and with live news needs in mind. Ensure all the right elements are in place for the most important stories
Feed back to regional bureau, staff and stringers on issues of quality and story structure
Champion high performers and hold staff accountable for performance
Lead multimedia change
Represent agency video internally and externally, including client visits
