The Platform Commercialization team is responsible for developing the commercial model for the Thomson Reuters Financial and Risk (F&R) open platform. This involves establishing how an open platform creates value for our customers and partners and how a platform business model can drive growth for F&R. Our work combines commercial strategy and implementation programs to define the open platform opportunity and the business requirements to achieve it.
The successful candidate will lead commercial strategy and implementation initiatives to support the open platform proposition, examining how best to package and deliver F&R content and capabilities to drive growth for F&R and our customers.
The Platform Commercial Strategist creates the fact base and conducts analysis to develop and validate the economic model and the commercial framework for the open platform. He/she analyzes trade-offs between product segmentation options and product packaging strategies and establishes the commercial policies and practices needed to maximize revenues. The Platform Commercial Strategist also works directly with business managers to implement platform commercials in customer organizations.
The role requires strong financial modeling skills, commercial acumen and the ability to synthesise complex and sometimes imperfect data into clear proposals and recommendations. A collaborative mindset and program management experience are essential, as successful commercial implementations depend upon input from and alignment among key stakeholders across the organization (proposition owners, finance partners, commercial managers, order to cash specialists, and market development managers).
