WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Use your technical expertise, leadership, and collaboration skills to play a critical role in shifting Tax & Accounting platforms and development teams to continuous delivery in the cloud. You will play an important technical leadership role in collaborating with others to set direction for our move to cloud-native architectures. You will initially focus on leading the design for automated blue/green deployment on immutable infrastructure using containers. Your ability to factor in related concerns such as configuration, versioning, canary testing, multi-region deployments, disaster recovery, resiliency, and security will be essential to our success in cloud-native architecture.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE

  • You will provide thought leadership and influence on the application of new technologies and approaches that provide benefits to our business.
  • You will be responsible for architecture leadership to product and platform teams within the Tax & Accounting business.
  • Keeping abreast of new technology, including implementation of PoCs on new approaches and technologies.
  • You will collaborate with architects, managers, and engineers to establish and document robust designs.
  • Mentor engineers with less experience in design, influence, and leadership.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science with a strong academic record.
  • 7+ years experience with software development, ‘Web scale’ architecture patterns, and/or DevOps, including Twelve-Factor App principles.
  • 2+ years working with cloud and cloud-native design patterns (service discovery, circuit breakers, reverse proxy, etc.), preferably on AWS.
  • 2+ years of experience with cloud-native development, such as with Spring Cloud, Netflix OSS, or equivalent.
  • 2+ years experience automating CI/CD pipelines using modern DevOps tools.
  • Validated ability to incorporate architecture aspects such as security, scalability, flexibility, portability, maintainability, operability, availability, and disaster recovery into designs.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and analyze new technologies.Ability to work creatively and analytically in problem solving.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and influencing skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with container based tools such as Docker and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or Amazon ECS.
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL datastores.
  • Experience with distributed caching services such as Redis.
  • Experience with PaaS platforms such as Cloud Foundry.
  • Experience with serverless architectures such as Lambda.
  • Experience architecting API-first solutions.
  • Experience with system load and scale testing.
  • Experience with TDD.
  • Strong command of Python programming language.
