Enterprise Proposition and Product on the Platform Capabilities team

Enterprise Proposition & Product Management has three primary responsibilities, united by a common thread: To succeed we will work collaboratively across the Financial and Risk (F&R organization. Those three responsibilities are:

  • Responsibility for the success of the F&R Enterprise business (real-time and historical data feeds, data management platforms, managed services, and streaming analytics) and our Collaboration & Messaging propositions. While the Enterprise business provides propositions that are offered directly to our customers, those same propositions also power our Investing & Advisory, Wealth Management  and Trading businesses, and with alignment around our Open Platform strategy will also power our Risk & Supply Chain business.
  • Leading our proposition response and compliance with regulatory and market structure changes (including MIFID II). Our customers look to us to offer a joined up strategy, propositions, commercials, and delivery of offerings that make up any major regulatory shift or market structural change; the most recent example being MIFID II.
  • Leading the product management teams to deliver the products and product frameworks that support both our Enterprise Propositions and that form the Open Platform on which all F&R propositions will align.

Thomson Reuters Data Model Discovery.

The purpose of Thomson Reuters Data Model Discovery (TRDMD) is to provide a consistent place and methodology to curate Thomson Reuters data models. The tool is designed to be intuitive and allow all content groups to easily create, upload, store, edit and download data models with automatic version control, stored history and the ability to export the models in machine readable formats

Role Summary:

Thomson Reuters is seeking a Full-time employee in the Platform Capabilities organization (F&R CP Enterprise Proposition & Product business unit) as a Product Manager for Platform Data Models reporting to SVP, Head of Platform Data Models.  The Platform Data Models product team is responsible for leading a working group and forum to discuss and solve data model issues, as well as distributing and sharing information about data models.  The team also product manages Thomson Reuters Data Model Discovery, a data model curation tool that facilitates the creation, maintenance and distribution of data models for internal users and customers.

Main Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

  • Drives resolution of data model issues raised by customers and internal stakeholders
  • Collaborates with colleagues such as Proposition Managers, Data Account Managers and Exchange Managers to determine customers' data model requirements.
  • Participates in the Platform Data Model Working Group (PDMWG) working with expert consultants to resolve data model issues and oversee data model creation and compliance
  • Acts as an ambassador for the PDMWG, communicating the team goals and providing information about the data models
  • Assists with documenting data models and with enhancing the content and functionality of the Thomson Reuters Data Model Discovery tool
  • Accepts assignments from the Platform Data Model Working Group to document data models, resolve data model issues and answer questions about the data models
  • Meets with customers and internal stakeholders to explain the data models and gather feedback for data model improvement
  • Assists with maintenance and overall presentation, as well as adding pertinent content, to the PDMWG Hub site to enhance usability and expand the information provided
  • Recommends enhancements to the Thomson Reuters Data Model Discovery tool to guide the product evolution.
  • Establishes and leads working groups with the Transactions, EDS and DataScope product teams to document transactions and non real time data models
  • Demonstrates Thomson Reuters Data Model Discovery tool to customers and internal teams and assists with problem resolution.
  • Publishes blogs to communicate information about the data models
  • Attends Elektron White Paper reviews to sign off on behalf of the Platform Data Model team.

Essential Skills/Experience Required: (Outline in bullet point form the absolute must have skills & experience)

  • 3+ years  experience with financial markets and content
  • Data modeling experience
  • English language fluency
  • Strong writing and presentation skills
  • Well developed analytical and problem solving skills

Desired Skills/Experience Required:

  •  Web-based data model experience is particularly desirable
  • Technical expertise is a plus

Education/ Certifications:

  • Bachelors’’ Degree or equivalent
