About the role

We have an exciting, newly created opportunity for an Alliance Manger, Mid-Markets to maintain the strategic business partnership with a select group of alliances to achieve market advocacy for the use of our solutions. This is a key client focused role that will also be responsible for recruiting, managing and coordinating strategic alliance activities, communications and relationship development to ensure alignment with Thomson Reuters’ overall objectives and strategy.

About the business

Thomson Reuters Tax & Accounting provides information, decision support tools and software applications for tax and accounting professionals. In Australia and New Zealand, the business brings together a suite of tax software for the automation of corporate tax returns and tax provisions – including complex consolidations – FBT reporting, property and investment fund trust distributions as well as document management solutions and tools for collection and review of tax data by accounting firms.

Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE Global Products software solutions allows corporations, and professional accounting firm advisors, to prepare tax provisions / tax effect accounting calculations for large multi-national corporations. This role will focus primarily on educating and identifying opportunities for this market segment.

Duties

Reporting to the Business Development Director, the key duties of this role include:

  • Establish and manage relationships with existing Alliance partners in order to create new opportunities for these partners and Thomson Reuters
  • Establish and maintain executive, sales and marketing relationships
  • Recruit new Alliance partners - develop and execute go to market plans with target alliances
  • Collaborate with the Thomson Reuters Head of Large Tax & Accounting Sales on closing new business
  • Provide product and program training for Alliances & clients through webinars and demonstrations of our product offerings
  • Act as primary point of contact for Alliances to establish and manage alignment between organisations
  • Inform Alliances of new initiatives and solutions from Thomson Reuters
  • Strategic and operational planning, market development, business planning and forecasting
  • Develop and execute Alliance Account Plans
  • Promote Thomson Reuters solutions through alliance engagement, industry events, trade shows, etc.
  • Included, but not limited to, quarterly newsletter, centralised coordination of contact management database or CRM tool, and reporting on key metrics
  • Bringing market and industry intelligence through the alliance channel
  • Domestic travel approximately 30% required

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced professional with 4+ years of experience in a high-tech industry in a Marketing, Business Development and/or Strategic Alliance role within a corporate environment. You will have experience selling either directly to end customers and/or channel development/strategic alliance experience.

You will also bring the following to the role:

  • Bachelor degree in Commerce/Business/Accounting or a related field
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written, presenting and facilitation)
  • Proven ability to influence and network effectively
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship building skills at a senior level
  • Strong knowledge of direct and indirect tax software
  • Experience working within a top 10 Accounting firm (advantageous)
  • Knowledge of and experience of the corporate tax environment is preferred
  • Experience with Salesforce (CRM) and proficiency with the Microsoft Office package is strongly desired
