Regulatory Mapping attorneys, at an associate level, must possess a fundamental understanding of financial market and concepts. These attorneys should be capable of conducting independent research to understand the business of financial firms and determine relevant compliance obligations. They should have a foundational understanding of basic financial terms and concepts. These attorneys must have the ability to interpret and comprehend financial statutes and regulations. These attorneys should have basic research skills and know where to find the most up-to-date regulatory and statutory developments. These attorneys should have exceptional analytical skills. They should have good communications skills and show and unending desire to learn more about regulatory mapping.
The primary responsibilities include:
Attends mandatory training and certification courses.
Co-operates with team members and acts as a team player.
Escalates project specific issues timely.
Applies himself to understanding the underlying issues of a project.
Interprets statutes and regulations correctly or calls for help in understanding them.
Have accuracy of at least 95%
Follow process instructions 80% of the time
Achieve on time delivery (OTD) on 95% client deliverables
Thorough and meticulous with great attention to details.
Organized and efficient – handles particular responsibility assigned to him/her quickly and accurately.
Reports back to his seniors on the status of assignments.
Effective on the floor in terms of sharing learning/insights with peers/juniors/seniors.
Consistent presence and active participation at team, department, and company meetings and participates in voluntary professional development programs.
Meets project specific deadlines and escalates delays timely.
Entry level contributor responsible for working within the project scope and budget.
Accomplishes work with low to moderate supervision.
Impact is normally within the immediate project team.
Typically works on one or two projects at a time and as a member of the project team(s).
Should bond well with the team and ensure a healthy work environment.
Fundamental understanding of financial concepts.
Ability to interpret statutes in light of financial products and services.
Excellent analytical and logical skills

Proficiency in MS Excel
Working knowledge of legal databases
Effectively communicating results/findings of work in all mediums (verbal and written)
Ability to understand instructions regarding legal research and follow the methodology established by seniors

Must have: Law degree
1 – 2 years
Desirable: Experience in regulatory compliance related work; prior experience/knowledge of financial industry.
