ROLE PURPOSE:

(Accountabilities)

The role of the MIS Reporting Analyst is to:

  • Develop and execute MI report processes, compile relevant data and distribute reporting information to various business areas and external clients based on scheduled frequency such as daily, weekly and monthly 
  • Collect/interpret data and analyze results and present the information in a comprehensive and easy to understand format
  • Troubleshoot reporting related issues and provide ongoing support to all business areas within the RMS organization
  • Identify, define and develop new management information (MI) initiatives to improve MI production processes, increase quality and efficiency 
  • Compile, prepare materials and contents such as power point presentations for internal stakeholder and senior management meetings, client engagements and ad-hoc requests  
  • Develop new reports, scorecard and metrics and perform testing to validate results
  • Work with various business areas to understand and fulfil requirements for new reports and/or make changes to existing reports as well as scheduling report distribution
  • Review and respond to queries from internal and external clients and keep track of any recurring issues related to reporting
  • Identify source data required for MI reports and engage the relevant IT teams to gather and validate requirements
  • Develop and write business requirements for the design of solutions

ROLE OUTPUTS:

The Business Analyst will work with RMS team colleagues to understand the internal and external reporting needs and support the relevant research, data analysis and metrics requirements

  • Compile datasets and perform analysis of relevant market data points
  • Produce fit for purpose presentation materials for meetings
  • Design and prepares client specific materials
  • Develop client-focused presentations
  • Identify and capture client requirements then produces functional specifications from those requirements
  • Contribute to and supports strategic client planning and portfolio mapping

REPORTING AND RELATIONSHIPS:

The Business Analyst:

  • Reports to the Head of MIS
  • Builds productive relationships with internal and external clients
  • Works closely with the business and MIS colleagues from other regions

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

(Knowledge, experience, skills and competencies)

Essential Knowledge & Skills Required:

Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate evidence of the following:

  • Extensive experience of identifying and capturing client requirements then writing functional specifications for reporting purposes
  • Expert level MS Excel and VBA (including the ability to apply advanced formulae & macros)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to organize and analyse structured and unstructured data with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Broad experience of data integration, data mastering and data mapping
  • A sound track record of:
    • Gathering requirements from stakeholders
    • Liaising with other business areas and building productive relationships
    • Working effectively in a small team and building rapport with colleagues
    • Analysing complex issues, applying creative and lateral thinking to solutions
    • Working under pressure to meet tight deadlines – motivated to do a great job
    • Presenting complex data in simple and easy to understand format/structure
  • Highly motivated problem solver with high degree of initiative and sense of urgency
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical skills, project management skills, and financial skills
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with both business and technology teams

Desirable Knowledge & Skills:

  • Advanced working knowledge of data mining using SQL, ETL, data warehouse
  • Experience in a business analyst/data analyst/statistical analysis role
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and competing objectives in a fast paced environment
  • Domain experience – Know Your Customer (KYC)
