Job Description

The Digital Media Analyst will work as part of the media planning and buying group at Thomson Reuters.  This group acts as an in-house media agency for Thomson Reuters brand advertising (The Answer Company), as well as advertising for TR business units.

The Digital Media Analyst will be responsible for helping to define and implement measurement strategies that align with business objectives; producing meaningful and comprehensive KPI dashboards each week/month (depending on the campaign); writing analysis and recommendations based on KPI dashboards; and monitoring performance of all campaigns – recommending optimizations when appropriate.  In addition, they will develop an attribution model for digital advertising.

The Digital Media Analyst will partner with the Media Manager and Media Planner to communicate this information to key stakeholders, as well as to make changes to campaigns as they run.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Work with Media Manager/Planner to determine each campaign’s strategy and KPIs and ensure all reporting measures have been put in place prior to launch
  • Assist in vendor and floodlight tagging
  • Develop performance dashboards, using metrics from various sources such as Doubleclick Campaign Manager, Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, DoubleVerify.Coordinate with various internal web groups to get metrics/reporting on a timely basis.Using data from dashboards, write a brief outlining performance (high/low performers) as well as insights/recommendations
  • Conduct frequent analysis of current campaigns, working with Media Manager/Planner to optimize campaigns as they run
  • Develop an attribution model for digital advertising, distributing credit for conversions
  • Build benchmarking dashboards, to be used by Media Manager/Planner when building media plans
  • Create reporting for creative performance, A/B testing, etc. at marketer’s request

Success Metrics

  • Continual improvement in existing campaign KPIs due to optimization recommendations
  • Timely delivery of monthly dashboards/briefs
  • Quality of analysis/briefs

Key Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3+ Years Media Analysis experience in an agency or in-house media group (Would consider 5+ years Digital Media Planning experience from an agency)
  • 3+ Years experience with DCM, GA, AA or equivalent certifications
  • Experience with Tableau or equivalent dashboard tools
  • Attention to detail and ability to develop well written briefs essential
