The Enterprise Product Owner – Director defines the vision of the capability that drives the success of the ECP platform. The shared language and access to metadata – data about the data – will enable the sharing of data and creation of new products.  The role requires a strong leader that can work with global, cross-functional teams to outline the strategy and execution plan for ECP Metadata.

This position will report to a Senior Director of Capability Management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with stakeholders and the project team to develop the vision, strategy and roadmap for the ECP metadata program (Identity, Registry, Rights and Provenance) and the Registry Program specifically
  • Stakeholder management, including engagement with senior and executive leaders in Financial & Risk, Tax & Accounting, Legal and Corporate Technology
  • Translate stakeholder requirements in to themes for the roadmap, and work with technology to create Epics to describe the work required
  • Coordinate requirement definition, validation and acceptance with multiple product managers, content owners and engineering organizations across Thomson Reuters.
  • Own the registry product backlog, including prioritizing and grooming Themes and Epics with the project team to ensure they have clear descriptions, success criteria and business value
  • Participate in table planning to determine what work is promoted to the next set of releases
  • Consult with users on data models, reports and best practices
  • Partner with product consultants to manage customer onboarding, setup, administration and support
  • Develop and track schedules, budgets, resource plans, communications, risk registers, and issue logs, while ensuring compliance with all associated standards and governance
  • Provide leadership for critical initiatives and direction to the project/program resources
  • Host regular product forums with users to discuss progress on the roadmap
  • Publish communications and marketing materials (blogs, release notes, newsletter) to evangelize the product
  • Partner with consultants to provide ongoing support of product and features enhancements after golive deployments
  • Document best practices and other findings

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree, or equivalent years of experience
  • Professional project management and/or Agile Scrum certification(s) a plus
  • 5+ years of product management, project management and/or development experience
  • 3+ years working in an Agile work environment with demonstrated proficiency in Agile software development, including writing success criteria and managing a backlog
  • Creative thinker with the ability to understand business needs and problems, and use their analysis and communication expertise to help address them
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to interact with management at all levels of the organization
  • Experience engaging with stakeholders at all levels, managing across time zones and cultures
  • Ability to successfully deliver against demanding deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a fastpaced, innovative environment
  • Exceptional analytical and communication skills
  • Strong team building and conflict resolution skills
  • Must be able to summarize and present requirements to both technical and nontechnical audiences

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to understand the key areas of metadata schemas and associated technologies
  • General understanding of RDF and ontologies; specifically OWL
  • General understanding of Big Data and AWS technologies
  • Avid learner in technology, data, product ownership, product development topics
  • Experience with JIRA as an agile management and reporting tool
