Design and implement object oriented software applications using Java and Agile methodologies; Design and implement complex business workflows for data ingestion using Oracle BPMS workflow or CDAP workflow management and services-based architecture; Mentor and review the work of junior software engineers; Create technical designs for workflow systems; Create, review, and maintain all required technical documentation/manuals related to assigned software to ensure supportability and reuse; and, Provide estimates for software development work.
A Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or a related field followed by five years of post-baccalaureate experience in a software engineering related occupation. Experience must include the following, which may be gained concurrently: 5 years of experience in Java development; 3 years of experience creating multithreaded server-based applications in Java; 3 years of experience creating complex technical designs; 3 years of experience mentoring junior software engineers; 3 years of experience writing technical documentation for Operations teams to operate workflow management systems; 3 years of experience estimating software development work for Java systems; 2 years of experience creating data capture processing pipelines that can handle at least 1,000 records per hour; 2 years of experience developing workflow management systems using CDAP workflow management or Oracle BPMS; 2 years of experience using the Linux operating system; 2 years of experience developing REST-based web services in Java; and 2 years of experience integrating permissions-based security into Java applications.
