Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Reviews job specifications and performs set up of major components of the equipment.
  • Monitors the equipment and product throughout the job run to ensure a high quality product.
  • Actively participates in company safety program to ensure compliance with safety rules and contribute to safety culture.
  • Performs moderate to complex troubleshooting of issues with product or equipment.
  • Obtains maintenance support for equipment as needed.
  • Accurately records data collection, material usage, and identification of finished product.
  • Runs equipment as a backup to the lead operatorImplements, performs, and sustains housekeeping procedures to maintain work area and equipment.Equipment includes Vacu-Hoist, Pallet Jack, Bundler and Strapper

  • Works under general supervision.
  • May provide work direction to helpers.
  • Is expected to work through typical or moderately complex problems but may require occasional guidance or direction.
  • Recommends and implements process improvements.

Technical / Professional Skills & Competencies

  • Must complete established qualification process for equipment.
  • Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, equipment displays, operating and maintenance instructions, and production orders (level required = fully competent).
  • Able to lift the weight required for the position and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Demonstrated mechanical expertise.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Basic computer skills.

Relationships: Internal / External

  • Develops and maintains respectful and productive working relationships with co-workers and management team
  • May provide leadership to work team
  • Effectively works with others on project teams.

 

Certifications / Education: Completion of formal vocational training or on-the-job training after high school leading to the development of equivalent skills.

Professional Experience:  Moderate amount of experience working in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
