The Marketing Director for Risk Propositions will be a highly valued, experienced, senior team player who can not only lead but also mentor and motivate younger team members. They will have a passion for helping people to grow and develop.

  • Passionate about launching campaigns, generating valued thought leadership, developing market insights, and global, complex campaigns – so we can help customers better position our firm and generate revenue.
  • Be passionate about the risk space, the challenges risk managers face and the dynamics of the global risk and regulation landscape

This role will suit an informed risk or regulatory marketer, who wants to gain a seat at our marketing table, obtain substantial management experience and aims to take their career to the next level. Roles like this don’t come along often!

What will you get?

Every day will offer you variety, challenge & excitement; as you will have responsibility for the creation of key messaging, generation of thought leadership & lead generation, digital events and collateral and other new channels (that you may yet discover).  You will be part of the Risk Leadership Team and will work with customers and business leaders at the most senior levels of our firm.  Should you desire, you will also have the ability to travel to some of our global locations.

The person who undertakes this role must have strong but balanced management experience, they will be a part of a very supportive wider team but they must be able to lead a matrix team, balance strategy and execution, budgets and forecasting and motivate their direct reports and others to excel.

Key Responsibilities

Scope of Impact

  • Deliver compelling thought leadership to the market to differentiate Thomson Reuters as a leader in this space
  • Drive aligned and consistent narrative and messages in core (digital, events, collateral) and non-core channels (e.g. self-service, in-product)
  • Helping the market to understand that Thomson Reuters helps industry to fight financial crime, modern slavery and corruption in supply chains
  • Generating leads and engagements for our shared risk, regulatory and compliance services across our entire risk portfolio
  • Structure marketing messaging and programs with actionable next steps so that we can nurture leads, ensure a high conversion rate and close business
  • Ensure marketing is relevant to workflow and that we are surfacing the right products based on insight into buying cycles and customer needs
  • Design targeted series of webinar and events activity to drive interest and awareness in our brand and solutions
  • Work across the field marketing team to ensure that messaging is appropriate for key markets
  • Support product launches across the risk business
  • Use data to identify key growth opportunities, cross and up sell opportunities, marketing program outcomes, revenue opportunities, and make recommendations based on analysis
  • Manage budget and global team responsible for delivering thought leadership, messaging and product information

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrable track record of marketing experience working in a company that sells products into risk & compliance departments (or related functions) and has a strong understanding of their critical challenges and/or workflows
  • We are open to candidates from related industry sectors, however marketing experience is key (we are not seeking candidates from pure sales, product management or general management roles), this is a senior and leading marketing role
  • Primary marketing qualification and/or association equivalents (such as member status of the Chartered Institute of Marketing – CIM) is essential. Additional post-graduate qualification welcomed but not essential.
  • Product marketing experience is essential (experience in risk software marketing desired but not essential), a balance between strategy and execution is key
  • Proven knowledge and ability of owning and managing marketing initiatives and projects
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively maximize the ROI of marketing communication strategies
  • Ability to influence cross-organizational teams
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to understand and work with data, marketing is pivoting more and more to an understanding of data – analytical capabilities are key going forward
  • Strong oral and written communication skills including the ability to present and communicate complex information to all levels of the organization
  • Ability to drive results within a team environment while leveraging professional relationships across a highly matrixed organization
