Job Description

Software Development Specialist/Architect (C#, ASP.NET, jQuery)


  • Design and implement a platform for web-based data-centric business applications (ERP).
  • Design and document the architecture for the above platform, including best practices and standards, and ensure compliance with the documented processes and procedures.
  • Ensure technical consistency and proper integration between the above platform and other Thomson Reuters products.
  • Analyze requirements, identify potential technical gaps and propose coherent and feasible technical solutions, considering SOLID principles, security, scalability, testability and timeframe.
  • Provide impact/effort estimation for architectural changes and improvements.
  • Mentor and coach colleagues.
  • Take an active role in improvement and innovation endeavors.

Must be highly capable in:

  • Microsoft .NET Web stack: C#, .NET, ASP.NET MVC.
  • Standard Web technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery.
  • Data access technologies: Entity Framework.
  • Test driven development.
  • SOLID principles and design patterns.
  • Distributed software architecture.
  • Written and spoken English.


Competent in:

  • SQL Server and/or Oracle.

Desirable but not required:

  • Modern Web technologies: AngularJS or React.
  • Node.js.
  • Version control systems: TFS, SVN or Git.
  • Experience implementing data-centric business applications (ERP, CRM…).

Schooling and experience:

  • BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent education is desirable.
  • Microsoft certifications are desirable.
  • Experience working as a full-stack web developer, especially with ASP.NET and JavaScript.
