Senior Analyst

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Create, support & improve fundamental models such as the North American water borne import/export and refinery yield forecast model
  • Answer customer queries and help customers in interpreting model forecasts.
  • Lead role in building fundamental forecast models for North American and South American markets.
  • Attend seminars and conferences to increase awareness of our services among market participants.
  • Responsible for model development
  • Customer contact and handle internal communication as needed
  • Analyze and describe market conditions and views in our weekly product
  • Analyze and describe market conditions and views in our daily product

Qualifications

  • 3-5 yrs work experience in crude oil or refined product markets
  • Strong understanding of US crude production, refining fundamentals and transportation fundamentals including pipeline, rail and waterborne transit
  • Experience in pricing of US, Caribbean and Latin American crude or refined products
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong programming skills, in Matlab or Visual Basic or statistical package such as R
  • Understanding of supply and demand fundamentals in US crude and refined product markets
  • Understanding of US hydrocarbon market in conjunction with global supply/demand drivers
  • Completed four year degree with concentration in either Economics, Finance, Mathematics or Engineering.
