Job Description

Thomson Reuters North American Wealth Management is seeking a Z/OS - MVS Storage & Hardware Administrator to handle installation, support, and maintenance of IBM mainframe software and hardware to support Thomson Reuters products. This includes production (client-facing) and development (internal) systems. As part of the core staff of the technical operations group, the Administrator position will be responsible for software and hardware implementation at the direction of management, but will be an integral part in the evaluation and analysis of software and architecture.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Create and install MVS I/O gen’s and supported Hardware maintenance
  • Maintain other related components, such as SKLM, Easytier, and Catalog management
  • Installation/support/maintenance of Third party products, from vendors like ASG, BMC, CA, Syncsort, etc.
  • Installation/support/maintenance of Mainframe Hardware from vendors like IBM and Brocade; the equipment would be CPU, Storage devices, and all the connecting gear using HCD/HCM
  • Support business operations and development in everyday use of products
  • Be able to code, deploy and effectively usage of the various tools for problem determination and capacity management
  • Work with software and hardware vendors for system support and problem resolution
  • Provide 24x7 on-call technical support (on rotation)
  • Participate in business continuance planning, testing, and execution, including storage Replication and recovery

Qualifications:

  • Experience with z/OS Mainframe hardware configuration tools (HCD/HCM)
  • Experience maintaining IBM tools like SKLM, Easytier, and Catalog management
  • Knowledge of third party products from vendors like ASG, BMC, CA, Syncsort, IBM, and Brocade
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced, highly complex mainframe environment - Ability to work under pressure to resolve complex system problems in a timely fashion
