Job Description

Manager of Business Operations, Risk Managed Services

Context & Scope
The Manager of Business Operations for Risk Managed Services supports the Head of Business Planning & Operations and the Head of Client Engagement in driving execution and delivery across critical business priorities and initiatives.

This role is critical to the overall effectiveness of Risk Managed Services and requires a leader with an exceptional track record of delivery, time management and organization skills along with a collaborative style and ability to coordinate and execute complex programs across multiple functions, stakeholders and geographies.

Primary Responsibilities
• Drive execution of external customer forums and events including logistics, preparation requirements, legal documentation, and action tracking
• Manages one or more large operations projects of high risk, complexity and visibility that relate to critical business goals for the global business partners
• Manages project deliverables, scope & expectations and coordinates project progress with sponsors, upper management and executives
• Develops and tracks to detailed project plans, including schedules, cost estimates, resource plans, communication plans, risk mitigation plans and issue resolution plans
• Promotes adherence to standard practices and processes (life cycle) to enable successful and consistent project execution and deliver value
• Supports Business Analysis, Requirements Gathering, Project Planning and Execution
• Coordinates multiple work streams and develops integrated project plans
• Manages customer expectations working with both internal and external cross functional teams (in partnership with account/consulting teams)
• Develops business requirements as appropriate
• Provides project leadership, work direction, and feedback for a cross-functional, multiple location team
• Interfaces independently with all functional & business areas/ groups affected by the project, including senior and/or executive management. Works closely with functional resource managers to ensure adequate allocation of resources to projects being managed
• Makes project decisions and recommendations to management about schedules, prioritization, and resource allocation with input from others as needed
• Communicates and reports status to executives, global business partners and all other stakeholders e.g., Status Reports, Executive Briefings, etc.
• Delivers formal presentations and executive summaries to senior management and key stakeholders to provide recommendations and structured decision making
• Conducts frequent retrospectives and collect lessons learned for submission driving a continuous process improvement cycle
• Ensure alignment and effectiveness of operating model with external-facing forums – including intake, assessment, and resolution of customer feedback.
• Improve processes for efficient and effective business plan execution, prioritization, roadmaps and planning.
• Partner with Internal Communications to provide relevant data and content as requested

Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience:
Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate evidence of the following:
  • Strong background in program & project management:
    • Proven track record of delivering on large scale projects.  Experience overseeing all aspects of the project, including planning, requirements gathering, resource allocation, and budget.
    • A strong consultative approach with hands-on experience in an implementation scenario
  • A sound track record of delivering:
    • Complex business process or business change projects
    • Comprehensive project plans / sound program management skills
  • Well-developed and influential relationship building and stakeholder management skills:
    • Experience of leading a global team to success
    • Excellent communication and engagement capability (including customer-facing)
    • Influential presentation skills (including design and delivery)
    • Strong customer-facing skills at senior executive levels
