Senior Associate with Portuguese

SOME OF DAILY TASKS YOU WILL PERFORM:

  • Review and redlining of commercial contracts e.g. General Procurement Agreements including goods, services, software license, hardware purchase, application development and related Statements of Work, Confidentiality Agreements, Lease Agreements, intellectual property licenses and other commercial contracts.
  • Ability to comprehend contractual clauses, identify and articulate the issues/risks in a contract from the client’s perspective. 
  • Assist senior team members in negotiating contracts for our clients from various sectors such as Banking, Telecom, Healthcare, Manufacturing Companies, Human Resource Solutions and IT Services Industry, etc.
  • Collaborate with client stakeholders to mitigate identified risks in the contract language being negotiated and ensure the commercial objectives are fulfilled within the stipulated timeframe.· Accompany senior team member for client/customer calls and prepare call notes.  Over a period of time, develop the confidence and relationships to communicate independently with the business and legal stakeholders in a professional manner with a view to ensure the issues/risks are highlighted in a proper manner.
  • Attend and participate actively in mandatory and non- mandatory training and certification courses.
  • Adhere to project service level agreements including expected turnaround time on client deliverables and quality levels; escalate client issues promptly and appropriately.
  • Adhere to the internal and client-driven processes with diligence so that the service-level agreements with the clients are met.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING?

  • Good analytical and logical skills
  • Knowledge of English/grammar enabling efficient comprehension of contracts and other documents
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Must be computer savvy and able to learn and adapt to different client systems and processes
  • Diligence and Responsiveness - Sensitive to client deadlines
  • Team Player - Ability to co-operate and work as a team member and encourage colleagues; maintains positive attitude contributing to team morale

QUALIFICATION:

  • Qualified law graduate
  • 2-6 years PQE
  • Portuguese
