Head of Product Management, News Intelligence and Feeds

Job Description

Role Summary:

We are looking for a driven and motivated leader to help drive our News Intelligence and Feeds offerings forward.  As a Product and content management lead you will direct and influence cross-functional teams in order to drive roadmap definition and execution. The role would span across product, content, technology and data science functions and is responsible for the guidance and management of the overall product direction to ensure a market leading offering. A big part of the responsibility involves working with strategic partners as well coordinating with R&D/innovation teams to ensure that our efforts remain in alignment with the needs of our existing customer base and potential growth areas. The product lead is expected to balance demands from various stakeholders when setting priorities. This role will suit candidates who are technically minded and self-driven, with a thirst for discovering new areas and applying technical and content knowledge to new data

Main Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

  • Interface with internal stakeholders and clients to prioritize and communicate News Intelligence and Feeds roadmap in a collaborative fashion.
  • Define and drive product roadmap and product vision for functional area.  Contribute to overall News product suite roadmap and vision.
  • Ensure that our existing feed offerings are supported and drive the offering forward through EDS (our next gen strategic feeds platform) and ELEKTRON.
  • Leverage cutting edge technologies such as machine learning to improve existing signals/analytics and launch new offerings to improve our value proposition.
  • Provide guidance to content and other teams with respect to best practices
  • Collaborate with third party partners and Reuters editorial team to evolve the content to suit our diverse client base spanning Banking, Research, Risk and supply chain, FI, FX, Equities, Commodities etc.
  • Ensure tight collaboration with technology teams
  • Manage relationships and content rights in conjunction with partner and rights management groups. Ensure compliance by working with technical and product teams.
  • Ensure effective communication to internal and external stakeholders
  • Facilitate problem solving on content, discovery and product issues
  • Responsible for performing and enabling reporting on data quality
  • Able to lead across multiple teams and reporting lines.
  • Developing business cases for new content and product enhancements
  • Explore and drive product, content and ecosystem partnerships as appropriate

Key Relationships:

  • Work with the other Product Managers, content, legal, technology, rights management, partners and other teams to ensure that our offering is the leading offering in the market

Essential Skills/Experience Required:

  • Prior product and content management experience
  • Experience with analytics, derived data & feeds offerings
  • Familiarity with machine learning technologies or experience with big data in textual space
  • Dexterity with multiple domains (such as Quants, Wealth Management etc)
  • Ability to drive partnerships
  • An understanding of the financial news landscape. Keen understanding of financial client’s news and information needs 
  • Experience with Taxonomy
  • Technical acumen and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to make decisions and take ownership for them
  • Eagerness to investigate and learn and ability to break down boundaries
  • Strong time management skills; ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under pressure   
  • Strong analytical skills

Desired Skills/Experience Required:

  • Understanding of Financial Research Analyst or trader workflow
  • Understanding of Supply chain professional’s workflow
  •  Knowledge of financial information products

Education/ Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
